Fatal tour bus draws FMCSA investigation

A fatal crash that involved a tour bus and two other vehicles has left 26 people with injuries and one woman dead, as well as many people wondering how this crash happened. It does not appear that there were any extreme weather conditions that contributed to the wreck, and the company that owns the tour bus had no recorded crashes in the last two years. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration said they are looking into the crash, as are the police.

According to the report, the tour bus crossed into oncoming traffic in Southern California and plowed into two cars. A 55-year-old woman in one of the two cars was killed. Nine other suffered injuries that were deemed life-threatening, while seventeen others suffered injuries that required hospitalization but were not deemed life-threatening.

Fatal motor vehicle accidents are heartbreaking. Families are left devastated and wondering what their next legal move is. How do they cope without their mother, or father, or child? What are they supposed to do going forward? A lawsuit is often the last thing they want to think about in the wake of such a tragedy, but getting organized and holding the people responsible for your loved one's death is an important step in extracting a small modicum of justice from the situation.

It is also important to note that in major crashes like this, there are often numerous investigations happening concurrently. All of the information needs to be officially presented and accounted for. Having an attorney with you during these complicated times ensures that your side is represented.
